This year in June 12th – 16th, the Irish Prison Education (IPEA) will host the European Prison Education Association (EPEA) conference in TU Dublin Aungier Street, in partnership with the Irish Prison Service.
The official opening will be in City Hall on Wednesday 12th June from 5pm and. Mr John D’Arcy, National Director of The Open University in Ireland, will open the conference.
Our keynote speakers include Ms Caron McCaffrey, Director General of the Irish Prison Service and Tomás Ó Ruairc, Director of the Teaching Council.
We expect to have up to 160 delegates from across the world, USA, Europe, UK and Ireland.
There will be specific themes to the conference, including basic education, art and craft, families and imprisonment and citizenship education in prisons. If Irish prison teachers wish to participate, they are welcome to share their good practice in short “Lightening Talks” at the event.
