EPEA 16th Conference
The EPEA 16th International Training Conference will take place from the 16th – 19th November, 2017 in Vienna. The theme for this year’s conference is Beyond Frontiers: Challenges. Opportunities. Aspirations.

This year four members of the IPEA will travel to Vienna to deliver seminar sessions and lectures.
Dr Kevin Warner , EPEA founding member, will deliver a lecture on The Potential vs Policy as well as being involved in a live streamed panel discussion on ‘Policy, Potential and Breaking the Frontier’.

A seminar session on a ‘Comparative study in prison education: standing in each others’ shoes’ will be delivered by Catherine Byrne, IPEA chairperson, alongside Monica Giblin.

Ciara Hereward Ryan and Lorraine Higgins, IPEA committee members, will also facilitate a seminar session called ‘Connecting Communities:  A practical examination of two projects that aspire to maintain positive connections between the prison community and the outside community, the Red Cross and Dillon’s Cross Projects.’

This is a wonderful opportunity for the IPEA to learn about new initiatives and changes in the prison education world as well as promoting the wonderful work that is being done within the prison education community in Ireland.
